Graveside services for Barney Mason Tucker, 81 of Monroe, Louisiana will be held Monday, January 4, 2021, at 11:00 AM Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery with Brother William Smith officiating under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Rd., Monroe.
Barney was born in Bernice, Louisiana on September 13, 1939. He was the baby of 9 children. Barney had many outstanding strong traits including honesty, integrity and striving for excellence in everything he did. Barney was an active member of Lakeshore Baptist Church serving as a Sunday School Director, teacher, financial leader, and deacon. His church family was a very important part of his life. Barney had a black belt in judo and taught karate with longtime friend, Dr. Tom Fields. Barney also proudly served his country as a US Marine. The Tucker family were well known in their trade and Barney followed in their footsteps working as a bricklayer in his younger years before pursuing a degree in accounting. He was recently recognized for his 50 years of loyal membership in the Society of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants. Family, friendship and his walk with God held his priority in everything he did.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 40 years, Lauretta, his children Veronica, Debbie (David), Michael (Emily), and David. The light of his life were his grandchildren: Ashleigh (Brian), Tucker (Emily), Macy and Connor, Ella and Hazel Mae, Annie and Brinkley. Barney prayed for all of his family daily including his four children from a previous marriage: Tina, Gina, Cassie, and Barney Allen Tucker.
Thank you for all of the love and prayers as we traveled this journey. You will always be a part of our lives.
Due to COVID, we know these are trying times and we feel your prayers. Barney would not want anyone else to experience this.
