Memorial services for Mrs. Barbara Taylor Barker, 82, of Monroe, LA will be held graveside 10:00 AM Friday October 8, 2021, at Greenwood Cemetery West Carolina Ave. in Ruston, LA with Bro. Don DeLukie officiating, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe, LA
Mrs. Barker was born December 7, 1938, and passed away on October 2, 2021, at her residence.
Mrs. Barker was a member of the Swartz Church of Christ. She retired as a computer operator in municipal payrolls and was a longtime sorority sister of Beta Sigma Phi. She was an avid fan of Alabama and New Orleans Saints Football. She enjoyed her plants, animals, sewing and cooking for her family.
Mrs. Barker was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Mr. Gene R. Barker; her parents, Frank and Carrie Frazier Taylor; brother, Joe Taylor (Margaret), sisters-in-law, Katie Barker and Angie Barker.
Survivors: two sons, Raymond E. Barker (Kimberly) and Bryan K. Barker; Daughter, Terri L. Barker; 3 Grandchildren, Hope B. Moore (Cody), Ryan T. Barker (Mandy), and Jennifer Simms; 4 great grandchildren, Memphis Singleton, Brody Barker, Jayce Barker, and Harper Moore; Sister, Martha T. Young (Dale); Brothers-in-law, Bobby Barker and Tommy Barker; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Swartz Church of Christ, Humane Society Adoption Center of Monroe, or PAWS of Northeast Louisiana.
