Funeral service for Mrs. Barbara Lindsey Livingston, 91, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 11:00AM Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at Covenant Presbyterian Church with Rev. John T. Mabray and Rev. Jonathan Wagner officiating. Private family graveside will be held at Danville Cemetery in Jonesboro, LA, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe. Visitation will be from 10:00AM Tuesday until 11:00AM in the Fellowship Hall at Covenant Presbyterian Church. Funeral to follow at 11:00AM.
Barbara was preceded in death by her brother, Don Roland Lindsey; her parents, P. C. and Blanche Lindsey; and numerous cousins.
Survivors include her children, Lauren Lancaster (Michael),
Sarah Arceneaux (Frank), and Charlotte Harrison (Tim); grandchildren, Emily Graham (John), Heather Cashion (Richard), Meredith Arceneaux, Andrew Harrison, Molly Wilcox (Neal), Clint Lancaster (Rebecca), Anna Harrison, William Harrison, Mary Harrison, and Gabe Arceneaux (Jackie); and nine great grandchildren and close family-like friends, Scott and Dina Bell, Tristan, and Sage.
Mrs. Livingston spent her formative years in Arcadia, La, where she graduated from Arcadia High School. She attended the Ward Belmont School in Nashville, TN, University of Colorado, and finished with a bachelor’s degree at Louisiana Tech University. Mrs. Livingston worked for the Ouachita Parish School Board teaching special education for over 25 years. She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Monroe, La. As a homemaker she was known for her cooking and baking skills. Most of all she loved to cook for her family and friends. Her favorite times were spent with family sharing a meal she prepared. She leaves behind a legacy of love, selflessness, and compassion.
The Family would like to thank the staff at Rosemont/Amera Assisted Living and Elara Hospice for their wonderful, loving care of our mother.
