Funeral services for Barbara Tannehill Hebert, 87, of Plano, TX, formerly of Monroe, LA, will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, September 30, 2017, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, LA with Rev. Boyd Tannehill officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery with a private reception to follow.
Mrs. Hebert was born December 7, 1929 in Mangham, LA and passed away Friday, September 22, 2017 in Plano, TX. She was a member of North Monroe Baptist Church.
Mrs. Hebert was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Lee Hall and Ella Jane Mapp Hall; husband, Allen Dale Hebert; her first husband Albert Clinton Tannehill.
Survivors include her children: Katherine Elaine Tannehill Caven and husband Ron, Brenda Lee Burt and husband Rick, Albert Lawrence Tannehill, Brian Alan Tannehill and wife Alishia White Tannehill, Robert Michael Tannehill and wife Cindy Turner Tannehill; 2 sisters, Bobbie Jean Boucher and Margaret Hall; 2 brothers, Robert Lawrence Hall and Charles Hall; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
Barbara graduated valedictorian of her class from Welch High School in 1946 and completed College at Northwestern University in Natchitoches, LA. She worked her entire career for the State Health Department as a Bacteriologist/Lab Tech at the Monroe Laboratory. She was actively involved in the Pilot Club of Monroe for many years.
She was a loving Mother and good Christian woman who always made everyone feel special and important. She loved traveling, cooking, helping others and her family. She was always well dressed, well coifed and her makeup was just right all the time.
Everyone loved Barbara. Her legacy is one of great grace and kindness. She will be missed very much.
Pallbearers will be Robert Tannehill, Jr., Matthew Tannehill, Jeremy Tannehill, Dalton Tannehill, Rick Burt and John Ballard.
Visitation will be 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Friday, September 29, 2017, at the funeral home.
The family wishes to extend their thanks to Assisted Concepts Residential Care in Plano for the loving care she was given over the last year along with Harris Hospice.
