Ardis C. “A. C” Trapp, Jr.
Graveside Services for Mr. Ardis C. “A. C.” Trapp, Jr. 89 of Monroe, will be at 2:00 PM Friday, January 31, 2020 at Chase Cemetery, in Chase, LA, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Ardis Clayton Trapp, Jr. (“A.C.” born December 4, 1930 in Chase, Louisiana) passed away of natural causes on Saturday morning, January 25. He follows his sister, Ethel Undine (“Deanie” born July 12, 1924 in Chase). They were the only children of Ardis Clayton Trapp (b. April 12, 1896 near Trapp, Mississippi) and Jessie Mae Stigall (b. January 7, 1906 in Chase). A. C. was a virtuoso pianist, and a member of the National Piano Guild Hall of Fame. Spending more than a decade in Europe, A. C. travelled throughout Western and Eastern Europe (behind the Iron Curtain, with a visa) and Northern Africa. A. C. was frequently invited to play pianos and organs in historic cathedrals, whose walls celebrated his sound to the greatest effect. A.C. also played piano or organ at any church that wished him to. A man of many talents, A. C. was also an amazing wood block artist, renowned researcher and writer of genealogy, and painter (who perfectly replicated an impressionist masterpiece on the lid of one of his Steinways). A. C. will be remembered for his generosity, quick wit and dedication to family.
He will be buried next to his parents in Chase Cemetery.
A.C. is lovingly survived by his wife Beatrice Marie Trapp; sons, Ardis Clayton Trapp, III. and Jonathan Lee Trapp; and grandchildren Kasmira Keely Trapp, Alexandra Marie Trapp, Amelia Bevin Trapp and Myles Vincent Trapp.
