Anthony Joseph Pendola, 87, beloved Christian, countryman, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully at the Northeast Louisiana War Veterans Home after a long illness on October 27, 2016.
Mr. Pendola was born December 29, 1928, in Jena, LA to the late Dominick Vitrano Pendola and Josephine Medica Pendola of Columbia, LA.
He was a graduate of Columbia High School, received a BS Degree from LA Tech, served four years in the US Navy during the Korean War as a Hospital Corpsman on the Island of Guam, then returned home to graduate from Northeast Louisiana College (ULM) where he was in the first graduating class of the School of Pharmacy in 1958. He practiced pharmacy ethically with sincere care and special dedication to the patient counseling for 38 years. He belonged to Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church and the 5th District Pharmaceutical Association.
He will be deeply missed by his survivors: wife, Paule Varino Pendola; son, Dr. Christopher A. Pendola; daughter-in-law, Kelly Brown Pendola and their daughters; Millie Anne, Emma Elizabeth, and Audrey Ellen Pendola of Kingsport, TN; daughter, Ellen Pendola Blanchard; son-in-law, Dr. Robert Neil Blanchard and their children; William Robert, Ana Kate, Jack Neil, and Christopher Reese Blanchard of Destin, FL, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews, and great, great nieces and nephews.
He is also survived by his great nephew, Anthony Ray Pendola, Jr., his wife, Jessica, and their children; Dominick, Gabrielle, Avril, and Chandler of Wake Forrest, NC.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Dominick V. Pendola, Jr. and his sister-in-law, Faye Samples and their son, his nephew, Anthony Ray Pendola of Clendenin, WV.
