Annie Ruth Washam Beck, of Monroe, went home to be with the Lord and departed loved ones on October 13, 2019. Mrs. Beck, age 83, was known for her unselfish service to God through the church, her family, and the community. A long-time resident of East Carroll Parish, she and her husband moved to Monroe in 1991, where they continued to serve. She was a Sunday school teacher, Girls in Action leader, music director, business owner, maternity home house-mother, and more. She consistently proved her undying love and dedication to God and the people around her.
Though her presence will be greatly missed, the Light she shared will forever shine in the hearts of those who knew her.
Mrs. Beck is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Sonya Beck of McComb, MS; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Michael Haygood of Benton, LA; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Mark Stanley of Burleson, TX; brother Darrell Washam; sister, Pat Muirhead, both of Monroe; nine grandchildren; many great grandchildren; a beloved sister-in-law and brother-in-law, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Mrs. Beck is preceded in death by her adoring husband of 65 years, Thomas Beck; her parents, John and Myrtle Washam; brothers, Murray and Don Washam; and daughter, Karen Kaye Beck.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00PM Saturday, October 19, 2019, at Parkview Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Dupree officiating. Graveside service at 3:00PM Saturday, will follow at Providence Memorial Park Cemetery in Lake Providence, LA, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe. Visitation will be from 5:00PM until 7:00PM Friday, October 18, 2019, at Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe.
Pallbearers will be Joseph Beck, Jarrod Beck, Cody Beck, Kory Stanley, Aaron Haygood, and Cameron Uranga.
