Anna Perkins Owens

Funeral Services for Mrs. Anna Perkins Owens, 80, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 22, 2020, at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in West Monroe, LA, with Dr. Randy Burdeaux officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery in West Monroe, LA, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe. Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. until service time on Tuesday at the church.

Mrs. Owens was born June 13, 1940 and passed away December 18, 2020. She was the secretary at Pinecrest School for over 20 years. She was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church and taught Sunday school for many years. She loved writing poetry about her church family and going to Gospel singings at the church. Mrs. Owens loved to travel, especially going to Branson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nathan and Velma Perkins; her husband, Dwight Rabeon Owens; brother, Glen Perkins; and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Survivors include her children, Randy Owens and wife Sallie, and Lisa Heckford and husband Wayne; grandchildren, Brandy Bostick and husband Caleb, Jordan Owens, Jacob Heckford and wife Rachel, Annalee Armstrong and husband Blaine, and Savannah Balsamo and husband Jonathon; great grandchildren, Luna Taylor, Leah Taylor, Laylah Balsamo, Ava Heckford, Fisher Balsamo, and three more on the way; sister, Evelyn Barnett and husband Jack; sisters-in-law, Margaret Perkins and Margie Brown; brothers-in-law, Bill Owens and wife Janet, and Tom Owens; and numerous nieces and nephews.
