Anna Lois Sackett Ham, of West Monroe, Louisiana and Whitefish, Montana, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on October 26, 2022, a couple of weeks shy of her 92nd birthday. A Celebration of her Life will be held at Northminster Church in Monroe, La on November 18, 2022, with visitation at 1:00 P.M. and service at 2:00 P.M.. A summer celebration will follow in Montana.
She was born November 11, 1930, in Cincinnati, Ohio to Edward James Sackett and Edna Lois Cole. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oberlin Joseph Ham, Jr. and son, Michael Joseph Ham. She is survived by her children, Sheila Ham McCormick, Daniel Kevin Ham (Merritt), James Kelly Oberlin Ham, and daughter in law, Claudia Rebecca Ham. Grandchildren, Kimala Hendrix Davis (Trey), David Patrick McCormick (Elizabeth), Laura Michelle McCormick (Viviana), Sarah Lynn Angell (Tony), James Chappie (Erica) and 10 great grandchildren. She also had many spiritual children she loved so much.
Anna made her career in Education and loved teaching Elementary and College levels. She was a charter member of The Hiking Hussies. Some of her greatest joys were volunteering in Glacier National Park, her love of nature and travel that she passed on to so many with her declaration of Quanta La Gusta! a song of joy and travel. She loved sharing Anna’s B&B in Whitefish, Montana and kayaking and hiking well into her 80’s.
