Funeral services for Anna Dell Elliott Brown, 97, of Monroe, will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, September 28, 2018, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Betty Swanson officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Brown was born January 27, 1921, and passed away Sunday, September 23, 2018. She graduated with honors from the first nursing school in Monroe, LA. She worked at Green Clinic, St. Francis Hospital, and retired from the offices of Simpson, Ulrich, and Redman. Mrs. Brown enjoyed crocheting afghans for family members and friends. She was a lifelong caregiver, dedicating the last several years to the care of her daughter, Carole Diane Corry.
Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by parents, Archie and Julia Elliott; birthmother, Margaret E. Gryder; sister, Mary Elliott Wagner; husband, Abner T. Brown; daughter, Sandra Gay Humphries; and son-in-law, James Robert Corry.
Survivors include daughter, Carole Diane Corry; son-in-law, Burl Humphries; granddaughter, Kim Humphries Spencer; grandsons, Eric Humphries (Tammy) and Cliff Humphries (Teresa); great-grandsons, John Caleb Burns (Cassidy), C.J. Robinson, and Chris McKittrick (Chelsea); great-granddaughter, Leigha McKittrick; great-great-grandsons, Brady and Braxton Burns; great-great-granddaughter, Kylie McKittrick; and nieces, Barbara Gualtiere (Greg) and Jami Todisco (Franco).
Pallbearers will be Caleb Burns, C.J. Robinson, Chris McKittrick, Glenn Roscoe, Fred Spatafora, and Jesse Roye. Honorary pallbearer will be Fred Windham.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Savannah Court of Bastrop, Heart of Hospice, as well as her dedicated caregivers Mary Hodges and Tiffany Hayes.
