Angelo Peter Battaglia, a lifelong resident of Monroe, Louisiana, passed away on October 24, 2016 after a lengthy illness. Mr. Battaglia was born May 17, 1925 to Rosa Lalumia Battaglia and Peter Joseph Battaglia. He farmed for many years with his father and brothers and then worked at Louisiana Industries until his retirement.
He was a member and served as an usher at Our Lady of Fatima Church.
Angelo was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife Ethel Pauline Battaglia; brothers, Sam, Mike, and Joe Battaglia; sisters, Lena Grasso, Sarah Cicero, Shirley Palone, and Laura Paris.
He is survived by his daughter Loretta Battaglia and son-in-law Peter Minchin; brother, Johnny Battaglia; sisters, Josephine Tamburo, Rose Burdine, Katie Fontana, and Ann Battaglia; and several nieces and nephews. We loved him dearly and will miss him forever.
A funeral mass will be held 1:00 P. M. Thursday, October 27, 2016, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church with Rev. Job Edathinatt officiating. Interment will be in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Monroe, LA.
Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Rd. Monroe, LA.
Memorials may be made in his honor to the Alzheimer’s Association.
