Our beloved Grandmother, Angelene Marie Embanato Bruscato, went to join the party in heaven Monday morning, April 24, 2023. She was reunited with her husband, Paul Joseph Bruscato, her parents, Joseph Embanato and Mariana Inzina Embanato, along with her 8 siblings. She was also met at heaven’s gates by her son, Joseph G. Bruscato and his wife Barbara Quarles Bruscato. Angelene “Angie” Bruscato lived an exuberant life while she blessed us with her 98 years on earth. Mrs. Bruscato led her life helping others and volunteering her time to the community. Mrs. Bruscato was born August 23, 1924 and left a hole in many people’s hearts on April 24, 2023. In 1975, Mrs. Bruscato volunteered at St. Francis Hospital Center. She was later named Director of Volunteers and was awarded the 16,000 hours service award. Mrs. Bruscato continued her volunteer work at St. Francis Hospital for several years. During this time, she took on the responsibilities of managing the gift shop at St. Francis Hospital. Mrs. Bruscato and her husband, Paul Bruscato, were instrumental in building the St. Francis Medical Center Credit Union. Among her many duties as a volunteer, Mrs. Bruscato served on the St. Francis Auxiliary Executive Board. Throughout the years of serving on the Auxiliary Board, Mrs. Bruscato held several offices such as President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary. She was then named chairperson of the St. Francis Auxiliary Scholarship Committee where she also served as Parliamentarian. In 2010, Senator Rodney Alexander awarded Mrs. Bruscato the “Hometown Hero Award”. If you knew Mrs. Bruscato, you know that even though she loved her volunteer work her heart laid deeply entranced with her family and her grandchildren’s activities. When Mrs. Bruscato was not at St. Francis Hospital, she was found at the ball field cheering on one of her many grandchildren.
