It is with great sorrow the Johnson and Kieffer families announce the passing of Angela Christine “Christy” Kieffer Johnson, 52, of Ruston, LA. God called Christy home this past Monday February 28th unexpectedly due to COVID complications.
She is survived and deeply missed by her faithful husband, Patrick R. Johnson; treasured daughter, Allison Rose Johnson; loving parents, James and Olivia Kieffer; brother, Patrick Kieffer and wife Jamie C. Kieffer (of Humble, TX) and their children, Emily and Evan; and younger brother, Timothy and his wife Jamie L. Kieffer (of Baton Rouge, LA) and their children, Anna, Abby, and Michael; mother and father -in-law, Louis C. and Fay Faraci Johnson (of New Rhodes, LA), and sister-in-law, Jennifer Vosburg and husband Chad (of New Rhodes, LA) and their children, Anna and Justin.
Christy was a dedicated mother and wife who loved her family and the Lord Jesus Christ. She was born and raised in Monroe and graduated from Ouachita High School. From there, she attended ULM (NLU at the time), until her family moved to Baton Rouge where she worked and attended LSU. It was there that she met her true love, Pat Johnson. The two were married and began their lives together upon Pat’s graduation. Soon after, Christy began to struggle with rheumatoid arthritis. Pat’s faithfulness and their love grew to deeper affections as their marriage vows of “in sickness and in health” were tested. In 2005, their love and family grew as Allison Rose Johnson was born. Allison continues to be a source of great joy and love for all that know her, as she graduates from Ruston High School this May and attends Louisiana Tech in the Fall majoring in Bio-Medical Engineering. Christy is an example of what a kind, loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, aunt, and faithful follower of Christ looks like. As she now joins with the angels and the host of heaven singing “Holy, Holy, Holy, is the LORD God Almighty”, our family and the world will miss one of the most thoughtful, caring, and loving women God had placed on this earth. She truly exhibited one who followed Phillipians 2:3-4“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.
