Graveside Services for Mr. Alson Barnett Jr., 85, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00PM Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at Kilpatrick’s Serenity Gardens Cemetery, West Monroe with Rev. Waymon Warren officiating under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe. Mr. Barnett was born on March 19, 1930 in West Monroe, LA and passed away September 12, 2015 in West Monroe, LA. He proudly served in the United States Navy. Mr. Barnett was a plastering contractor for many years. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and loved gardening and cooking. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.J. Barnett, Sr.; son, Kurt Barnett; and son-in-law, Gerald Heath.Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Barbara Lynn Barnett; children, Arabella Barnett Heath, and Monte Barnett and wife Maurine; grandchildren, Kevin Nash, Jarrod Heath and wife Gena, Brandon Heath and wife Treva; 3 great-grandchildren, Cole Heath, Mallory Heath, Breya Heath; 3 sisters, Helen Cheek and husband Ken, Sophia Paul, and Eva Ruth Barber; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.Visitation will be held from 5:00PM until 7:00PM Monday, September 14, 2015 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.
