Funeral services for Mrs. Alma Mae Griffin Platt, 82, of Marion, LA, will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, April 28, 2007, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Jamie Orten and Rev. Terry Baze officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Platt was born March 18, 1925 in Fountain Hill, AR and passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2007. She was a member of D’Arbonne Church of Christ in Farmerville, LA. She was preceded in death by her husband, June C. Platt; and son, Jerry N. Waldrup.
Survivors include her two sons, Lloyd H. Waldrup and wife Gail of Kamath Falls, OR, and Gene A. Waldrup and wife Carolyn of Gresham, OR; two daughters, Terry M. Tomera and husband Marlon of Marion, LA, and Janet L. Casper and husband Barry of West Monroe, LA; one sister, Kathleen Sliger of Mer Rouge, LA; eleven grandchildren; six great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
Pallbearers will be Barry Casper, Marlon Tomera, Paul Casper, Adam Tomera, Gene Waldrup, and Phillip Barefoot. Honorary pallbearers will be Lloyd Waldrup, James Sanner, Glen Post, Jr., Glen Post, III, Mark Elliott, Sr., Richard Mott, Dane Raymond, and Brad Post.
Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home.
