Alice Nadine Gunn Wachowski

Funeral services for Alice Nadine Gunn Wachowski, 96, of Cataula, GA formerly of Monroe, will be held at 12:00 Noon Saturday, December 9, 2017, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Job Edathinatt officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Wachowski was born August 30, 1921, in Calvin, LA and passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2017, in Columbus, GA. She was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church, Columbus, GA, and formerly St. Joseph Catholic Church, Monroe, LA. She belonged to the “Rosie the Riveter Association.” Mrs. Wachowski served in the Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps, worked for the Bell South Telephone Credit Union, and The Surgery Clinic.

Mrs. Wachowski was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph S. Wachowski; parents, Mack and Irene Gunn; sisters, Maurine Gunn Smith and Barbara Gunn Stapleton; and brothers, Herman Gunn, Arvil Gunn, Bailey Gunn, and M. C. Gunn.

Survivors include her daughter, Rosalie W. McDuffie and husband George C.; grandsons, Christopher George McDuffie and Michael Joseph McDuffie; great grandson, Jackson Forrest McDuffie; sisters, Ethel G. Mott, Frances G. Wylie, and Juanita G. Griffin; and many nieces and nephews throughout the U.S.

Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 AM until 12:00 Noon at Mulhearn Funeral Home.
