Alice Gilbert Meador

Funeral Services for Mrs. Alice Gilbert Meador, 73, of West Monroe, LA will be held 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at New Chapel Hill Baptist Church in West Monroe with Rev. Charles Dupree officiating. Interment will follow in New Chapel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe. Mrs. Meador was born December 20, 1942 and passed away February 6, 2016. She was a member of New Chapel Hill Baptist Church, where she was a member of the choir for many years. Mrs. Meador was also in the Twin Cities Chevy Club for over 30 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mack and Clara Gilbert; brother, Melton F. Gilbert; and sister, Dorothy Smith. Survivors include her husband of 55 years. Donald Ray Meador; sons, Lance Ray Meador and Derrick Dewayne Meador and wife Wanda; grandchildren, Dakota Meador, Landon Meador and Meg Meador; sister, Maxine Bryan; sister-in-law, Margaret Fontana; brothers-in-law, Hilman “Buddy” Meador and Johnny Meador and wife Gail; and numerous nieces and nephews.Pallbearers will be Mike Bryan, Steve Bryan, Dakota Meador, Landon Meador, Bobby Hobson and Billy Martin. Honorary Pallbearers will be Twin City Classic Chevy Club, Johnny Fontana, James Shackelford, Mel Shackelford, Julian Terrill, Ben Kirby, Louis Fontana, Ron White and Johnny Dunham Sunday School Class.Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at New Chapel Hill Baptist Church, West Monroe. The family would like to give their heartfelt appreciation to LA Hospice and to Glenwood Home Health.
