Alice Faye Buffington

Funeral services for Alice Faye Buffington, 79, of Sterlington, will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, December 29, 2015, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Monroe, with Rev. Ben Hackler officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Log Cabin, LA.Mrs. Buffington died Friday, December 25, 2015, at Grace Home in Shreveport. She enjoyed cooking for the Amvets and her family and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary.Mrs. Buffington was preceded in death by her husband, James Ruben Buffington; and son, James Buffington.Survivors include children, Kenneth Buffington and wife Martha, Douglas Buffington and wife DeDe; daughter-in-law, Peggy Buffington; grandchildren, Maggie, Benji, Courtney, Matthew, Taylor, Whit, and Claire; five great grandchildren; eight brothers and sisters; and her special friend of 20 years, Gerald Walters.Pallbearers will be Benji Buffington, Matthew Rainwater, Whit Buffington and Ben Worley. Honorary pallbearer will be David Dailey.Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Monday, December 28, 2015, at Mulhearn Funeral Home on Sterlington Road.Memorials may be made to the VFW Post 1809, Hwy 594, Monroe, LA, 71203.
