Funeral services for Alfred Griffin Murray, 88, of Monroe, will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, January 2, 2016 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Monroe with Brother Richard Byrd officiating. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery in El Dorado, AR at 3:30 PM.Mr. Murray died Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at St. Francis Medical Center with his family by his side. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather, a member of Swartz Church of Christ and worked in several businesses. Mr. Murray was preceded in death by his son, Randal Murray; and eight brothers and one sister.Survivors include his daughter, Linda and husband Gary Shumate of Monroe; son, Kenneth Rae Murray and wife Sue of Marysville, WA; one sister, Virginia and husband Billy Kitchens of Beekman, LA; four grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.Pallbearers will be Royce Sissons, James Garvin, Ray Pierce, Gary Shumate, Randy Brown, and Jeff Brown.Visitation will be from noon until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
