Alden T. “Bill” Shotwell, Jr.

Funeral services for Alden T. “Bill” Shotwell, Jr., 95, of Monroe, will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 28, 2018, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Warren Eckhardt officiating. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery.

Mr. Shotwell was born January 17, 1923, and passed away Sunday, February 25, 2018. He retired at age 83 as an accountant with the City of Monroe. Mr. Shotwell loved to hunt and fish but his family, grandchildren especially, were his greatest love. He had a kind, caring, humble spirit. Mr. Shotwell was a United States WWII Army veteran.

Survivors include his son, Roy Shotwell and wife Donna; daughter, Polly Shotwell Lewis; three grandchildren, Jennifer Lauren Shotwell, Austin Riser Shotwell and wife Jennifer, and Daniel Neal Lewis; and sister, Betty Sue Shotwell Parker.

Pallbearers will be Austin Shotwell, Daniel Lewis, Ashton Holloway, Donnie Lazarus, Hugh McGough, and Damon White. Honorary pallbearer will be C. R. “Bubba” Russell, Jr.

Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM Wednesday at Mulhearn Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
