Funeral service for Mr. Albert Williams Gerson, 88, of Monroe, LA, will be held 10:00AM Saturday, July 28, 2007, at the First United Methodist Church in Monroe with Rev. Larry Stafford officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe.
Mr. Gerson passed away on July 25, 2007, at Glenwood Regional Medical Center. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Monroe. Mr. Gerson was an Army Air Corp Veteran of WWII and a member of the American Legion Post # 13. He was a vocational AG and Chemistry teacher in Ouachita Parish at Calhoun High School for over 32 years. After retirement from the school system, he worked for G. B. Cooley for seventeen years where he started a landscaping program for the residents which was instrumental in beautifying the grounds.Mr. Gerson was also a member of the F.F.A.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Guillory Gerson; son, Albert “Bill” Williams Gerson and wife Betty; daughter, Victoria Ann Gerson Seals and husband Dan; sister, Lucy Jane Dupree; grandchildren, Deborah Thomas and husband Todd, Ben Gerson, Adam Gerson, and Katie Seals; and great grandchildren, Felicia, Brandon, Dylon, and Dayton Thomas.
Pallbearers will be Butch Gilbert, Carl Gilstrap, Kenny Lewis, Dan Seals, Warren Ward, and Ed Little.
Visitation will be from 5:00PM until 7:00PM Friday at Mulhearn Funeral Home.
