A memorial visitation for Alan Troy Ingram, 68, of Monroe, will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Mr. Ingram, a retired optician, was born April 11, 1950, in Alvin, TX, and passed away Sunday, December 2, 2018. Alan was a graduate of Neville High School, class of “68”, where he played the position of tight end and scored many winning touchdowns. His love of football and love of the Saints mostly, was enjoyed even until his last days. He had lost his vision at the age of 40 but that didn’t stop him, he always knew who was playing and when. Ask him about any team and he knew all their stats.
Alan was a “one of a kind”. Anyone that knew him would agree. He was a loved husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be missed by many.
Mr. Ingram was preceded in death by his parents, Troy and Jean Ingram, both of Monroe.
Survivors include the love of his life for 32 years, his wife, Shirley Ingram; siblings, Randall Ingram and wife Lisa of Monroe, Dennis Ingram and wife Cyndi of Gulfport, MS, Sherri McHorse and husband Marvin of Bossier City, LA, and Karen Milliman and husband Chris of Destin, FL. He also leaves behind 8 nieces and nephews, and 8 great-nieces and nephews.
