During his days at Ole Miss, he was a letterman on the tennis team and a member of Phi Epsilon Phi Fraternity. This is where Carl’s lifetime love of all things Ole Miss began. Carl served in Vietnam, being stationed in Okinawa, Japan where he served as a Captain in the United States Army. He met the love of his life, Donna Renaud in Atlanta, GA and they began their life together in 1968. They moved to Monroe, had 3 children, and began their lifelong dream of building Aron’s Pharmacy.

Mr. Aron was a longtime member of Temple B’Nai Israel in Monroe and was strongly dedicated to his Jewish faith. Carl was a licensed Pharmacist for the State of Louisiana since 1962, and took ownership of the family business, Aron’s Pharmacy in 1971. Carl also was a member of the NAPB, LPA, Ole Miss Alumni Association and the Ole Miss M Club. He was appointed to the Board of Pharmacy in 1971, by Gov. John McKeithen and has continued to serve the board for over 50 years with 25 of those years serving as President. Carl was the longest serving member on any Board of Pharmacy in the country. He was appointed Lifetime Honorary President of the NABP and was recently elected President Emeritus of the Louisiana State Board of Pharmacy. Carl won many prestigious awards during his pharmacy career including the Bowl of Hygeia Award for Community Service from the LPA and the Meritorious Achievement Award from the College of Pharmacy at ULM. In 2006 the NABP presented their highest honor, the Lester E. Hosto Distinguished Service award to Mr. Aron. During the 2021 regular session of the Louisiana Senate, Resolution 96 was passed congratulating Carl on 50 years of service to the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy.

Carl was a lifelong member of Bayou DeSiard Country Club and loved playing golf in the “Big Game” with all of his friends. He was also very proud of his single digit member number.
